How many cameras can be monitored simultaneously?
You can view and monitor 16 IP cameras simultaneously. However, the monitoring of the cameras depend upon your PC hardware configuration. Monitoring all the cameras simultaneously may consume a lot of CPU resources.
When an alert is triggered, what are the different actions that can be configured?
When motion is detected, an alert is triggered. You can configure the following actions when an alert is triggered:

Capture live video and save it as a WMV file

Get email notification with a photo of the event

Play a sound alarm for specific duration

Run a program, script or batch
Can I schedule monitoring to start automatically?
Yes, you can schedule each camera individually to start as well as stop monitoring automatically. A schedule can be configured to begin monitoring at application start up, once, daily or weekly.
Can I start a video recording automatically on motion detection?
Yes, you have an option to start a video recording when motion is detected so that you know what event triggered the alert. Your video recordings are saved as WMV files on your PC.
Is there a way to track various activities and events while monitoring?
Yes, an event log is maintained for each camera so that you can track the events while monitoring. The events are logged when you start or stop monitoring, recording, broadcasting, when motion or noise is detected, files are being uploaded, and snaps are being taken.
Can I use Security Monitor Pro to view my cameras over the Internet?
Yes, Security Monitor Pro can broadcast video from any or all of the configured cameras. The broadcast is a standard Windows Media stream, and can be viewed using any PC over the Internet. For more details, refer the article Configuring Your Camera and PC for Internet Broadcasting.
How do I upload captured images and videos?
To manually upload the images and videos to a FTP server, click Tools >> Application Settings >> FTP settings. Enter the FTP connection details. You automate the upload process by enabling the option Enable Automatic Upload when Alerts trigger.
The program stops broadcasting after a long period of computer inactivity. What is wrong?
This behavior can occur if Advanced Power Management is enabled on the computer. To work around this issue, turn off Advanced Power Management before you start the program. To do this, use the appropriate method for your operating system.
Can I capture audio from the cameras with Security Monitor Pro?
When you connect a USB camera, you have an option to record audio as well. Audio Capture is not supported with an IP camera.
Is there a way where I can avoid false alarms?
Yes, you can mask or hide a particular area so that the motion in that region is ignored and thus no alerts are triggered. Click Camera >> Manage Camera >> Edit Camera >> Mask Area.
