I downloaded the trial version, and I'm trying to decide which product to buy so that I can burn DVDs that show the short movies (from my still digital camera). The files are .avi, and I didn't have any problems converting the avi files to mpeg using Digital Media Converter, however, I only have NeroSmart as a DVD burning device on my computer, and it doesn't support mpg files. The files have to be ifo, vob or bup files. I noticed that Digital Media Converter doesn't have any of those as output formats, only input. I'm very new to this, but I want to learn about it and buy the most ideal program for my needs.

To write your video files to a DVD for viewing a TV or DVD player:

1. Convert the video files to MPEG-2 NTSC (US) or MPEG-2 PAL (Europe).
2. Use any third-party DVD burning software like "Nero Vision" to write the MPEG-2 files to a DVD disk. You must select to make a "Video DVD" (not a "Data DVD").

Now you can view the DVD on any DVD player.
