Converting mov files to avi

I am using the digital media converter to change some quicktime mov files to avi, which i did but a message pops up when i try to split the file.."Digital Media Converter does not support splitting QuickTime (MOV) files. Please convert the MOV file to AVI and then split the coverted file" What do I do now. Thanks

In order to split the movie, you will have to convert it to AVI, then add the AVI file to Digital Media Converter's Conversion List, and split the new file.
