I am currently recording large chunks of time (i.e. 8 hours) and they end up being approx 40-50 GBs of avi files (approx 25 2GB files). I convert them to wmv and they are like 500 MB at most.

Is there any way to just record it in wmv format in the first place? Having to convert it every time takes a lot of time and is really kind of a pain.

Thanks

Recording in WMV (or any other highly-compressed format) requires a lot of computer resources. It would slow down what you're doing on the computer to do all the required computation while recording.

By recording in uncompressed AVI, we avoid having to perform the compression while at the same time doing the other task that you are recording. We believe that this is the best way to handle this.
