Online audiences have different internet connection speeds when viewing videos.
Some of your audience were able to hear only sound because they might have less bandwidth available to them than what is required by the video. In general, it is best to create multiple videos for different ranges of bandwidth connections. For example, you may want to create two videos - one for dial-up (56Kbps) users and the other for broadband users (128Kbps).
Windows Media 9 has the ability to create MBR (multi bit-rate) videos. These type of videos contain multiple streams encoded at different bit-rates.
