What should I do in order to make AWR find the feeds on a web page?

AWR auto discovers the feeds whenever you open a webpage that has feeds listed on the page.
When a new feed is found, an auto discovery pop-up window appears asking you to add the new feed to your monitoring list.
We have enhanced the auto discovery process in the latest version. Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Active Web Reader. To upgrade automatically, click Check for Upgrade on the Help menu.

Specifically, what file or extension is AWR looking for on a web site to consider it an RSS feed?

Active Web Reader looks for the following feed extensions:
RSS, RDF and XML
It then tries to validate the files to see if they in fact are feeds.

I am having problems with the Web Reader not finding feeds on web pages. All the settings are correct but it does not find the feeds. I have to find and store them manually. What can cause Auto Discover Feeds not to work ? Firewalls, virus programs ect. ?

Active Web Reader can auto discover feeds from web-pages you browse using either Internet Explorer or web-pages within Active Web Reader.
To auto-discover feeds from Internet Explorer, you must have the Active Web Reader add-on for Internet Explorer installed. This option is provided during the setup of Active Web Reader.
The second thing you need to make sure that Auto-Discovery feature is enabled from the settings screen.
A Firewall is generally not an issue since Auto-Discovery occurs within Internet Explorer.

Am I right in saying it only woks with Internet Explorer? When I try Firefox nothing happens. Also, with IE, it repeatedly informs you about the same feed, which is a bit irritating.

Active Web Reader's Auto Discovery plug-in is designed to work with Internet Explorer. When Active Web Reader discovers a feed, it will popup a box. You can always switch off the Auto Discovery feature.
