Why does trimming sometimes remove a second or two?

I love Deskshare products, I have Digital Media Converter as well as RIP DVD Plus. As there is no tutorial for trimming I have to ask a question: When I set an 'End' point the trimmed section ends before the point I have set, what am I doing wrong? If my video ends early is the easiest way to extend it just to increase the seconds at the 'End Position'?

The video stored on a DVD is made up of full frames, also called keyframes, and intermediate frames that contain partial data.

If you select a point between keyframes, Rip DVD Plus will end the video on the nearest previous full frame. If you are missing a second or two, simply select an additional few seconds to your end position.
