Hello.

I'm trying out Digital Media Converter and am encountering a problem with the Aspect Ratio.

If I convert a video file to AVI format, the aspect ratio is retained, which is what I want.

However, if I convert a video clip to one of the custom MPEG formats, the screen is stretched. The aspect ratio is not maintained.

I did read a thread in this forum that discussed screen dimensions, and followed the instructions by changing the Video Dimensions.

I did go into settings, and I did change the Video Dimensions.
The original aspect ratio is 320 x 240, which is what I set the Video Dimensions at.

However, when I converted the video files, again, the result is a stretched screen.

So, the custom Video Dimensions settings apparently aren't taking hold. I simply can't retain the aspect ratio, even after configuring it manually.

Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your assistance. J. Danniel

This problems occurs on some PCs. We are not exactly sure why this is happening. You can try these steps to resolve the problem:

1. Install the latest version of DirectX (DirectX 9.0C)
2. Install Windows Media Player 9 or higher

This problem has been fixed in the latest version of Digital Media Converter. You can now specify the Display Aspect Ratio of MPEG 2 (DVD) videos from Tools ] Settings. The following three options are available:

1. 4:3 - For Normal TV
2. 16:9 - For HDTV
3. 2.21:1 - For Cinemascope Movie
