Windows Media Player use hardware acceleration to improve video viewing performance. This acceleration technology completely disables screen recording.

To record videos off media players, turn off hardware acceleration. My Screen Recorder can disable Hardware Acceleration while recording is in progress automatically. After the recording is stopped the hardware acceleration is restored to its previous value.

To disable hardware acceleration:
1. On the Tools menu click settings.
2. Select the General Tab.
3. Check the "Disable Hardware Acceleration during recording" option.

In some cases you may also need to turn off video acceleration in Windows Media Player:

1. In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click on Options.
2. Select the Performance tab.
3. Move the Video Acceleration Slider to None.
