Converting from Quick time (mov) to Windows media player (AVI)-no video

I have converted several quick time video clips to AVi but when I try to play the clips I only get sound! Can anyone help me please

The default AVI settings use Xvid video compression. If you are using Windows XP or 2000, you may not have the Xvid decompressor installed on your PC. In that case, you can do any of these things:

1. Install the Xvid decompressor from http://www.xvidmovies.com.

2. Reconvert the files using a different video compressor, such as Microsoft MPEG 4.

3. Convert to a different video format, such as Windows Media Video (WMV).
