The Digital Media Converter by DeskShare can be used to convert DVR-MS files.

You can also organize and batch convert all your DVR-MS files to any of the following formats: VCD, DVD, AVI (DivX, MS MPEG4, uncompressed, etc), MPEG-1, MPEG-2 (PAL, NTSC), and WMV formats.

To download the latest version of the Digital Media Converter, visit the following page:

To convert a DVR-MS file to other formats supported by Digital Media Converter you require:

1. A Windows XP PC ( SP 2 )

2. DirectX 9C which is available free from Microsoft

3. An MPEG 2 Decoder which will allow you to play and work with DVR-MS files. You can download a free MPEG 2 decoder from the following link:

4. Windows Media Player 9 or higher

If you are using DCCHECK (decoder diagnostic utility) then make sure that you have set GPL as the preferred decoder.
