Following another thread, I bring in a blank image file (from paint), place it at the end of my existing video 1 track (sized for an appropriate length of time), place the text/title effect below it in the effect track, and then edit it to add text. Yet, when I then preview the video, no text is visible.

How to do this correctly?

P.S. this is my 1st post--VEM is a fine product indeed!

The latest version of Video Edit Magic makes it easy for you to add text as title and credit on the timeline. On the Edit menu, point to the Add Text As and click Opening Title or Closing Credit to add the text at the beginning or end of the timeline respectively.

Video Edit Magic automatically introduces a Video Color Clip in the video track of the timeline to provide a background color to the timeline. By default this color is black. You can change the color by right-clicking on the clip and selecting Video Color Clip Properties.

Thanks for you response to my question. Yes, I figured out that if I use a solid-black color background, I can see the text!
