When to use Video Track 2

Being new to Video Edit Magic, and having read the help files and run the tutorial, I am still confused as to when you use the second video track vs appending video clips to the first track. Can someone set me straight?

The Video 2 track is used when transitions are needed. A transition is used to move from one clip to another. You need to place a video in track 1 and 2 for a transition to work. To learn more about Timeline tracks, use the following URL:
