Splitting a video into two parts

please i am using this program from today and when i split film i cant see it in two parts which i done i see the whole movie i want it for vcd so i want to split it in half how can i see the movie in 2 parts and make it on vcd please help me fast

After splitting the clip in the timeline, delete the portions of the clip that you do not want in the final movie. After making the movie and writing the movie to the VCD, you can start your project again and choose to delete other portions of the clip.
