Converting MOV file to AVI - No sound

I am using the tools functionality to convert MOV (Quick time) video files to AVI to be able to edit them. Unfortunately after conversion video is OK but I do not have sound track ??? anybody can help.. thanks

QuickTime conversions require that you have the update version of the QuickTime player.
Try downloading the updated version of the free QuickTime player. The free version is listed on the left-hand side of the following page:
