Do I need to convert my MPEG 2 files to AVI? I have read that VEM cannot make videos with MPEG 2 clips in them.

Video Edit Magic can edit MPEG 2 files directly on the Timeline. There is no need to convert MPEG 2 files before editing and making a movie.

The only exception is when a VOB file from a DVD is imported into Video Edit Magic. You will be prompted to convert it. VOB files are a type of MPEG 2 file.
