Security Monitor Pro: Sounding an Alarm

Sounding an Alarm

The sound alarm plays an audio file of your choice whenever it is triggered.  You can use this alarm to scare away potential intruders from the location you are monitoring.  For example, if you want to secure your room while you are not present, position your web camera towards the door and configure it to play the sound alarm on motion or noise detection.  Now, whenever someone tries to enter your room, the alert would be triggered, and Security Monitor Pro would play the alarm, scaring the daylights out of anyone who is up to no good.  The alarm could be a siren or a recording of your voice saying, "Get out!".  All alerts can be configured and are run individually for every device added to Security Monitor Pro.

  1. Select a device by clicking on its preview window.  Click the Camera Monitoring Options button for the selected device.
  2. On the Monitoring With Alerts tab, make sure that When motion or noise is detected option is selected.
  3. Under Select Alerts check the Sound Alarm option.
  4. Click Configure to open up the settings window.
  5. Click OK.

After this alert is selected and configured, you can start monitoring.  Depending on the configuration, when motion or noise is detected, Security Monitor Pro will repeatedly play the specified file.
