Site Translation
The Site translation option gives you the option of translating your whole website, thus saving you a lot of time. There is no need to re-translate pages that you refer to continuously. Simply translate and save the website in a language of your choice for future use. Using the Site translation option htm, html, asp, aspx and xml files are translated.
Translating a site involves these steps:
- Save the pages in a folder: The pages must be in a folder on your computer or the network.
- Select the source-destination language pair: Site Translator provides you with 14 source-destination language translations. These options are listed in a drop-down list on the main toolbar.
- Select whether to include User specified tags: You may either translate the contents of User Specified tags during translation, or use the default settings.
- Specify input path: Specify the source folder containing the pages to be translated.
- Specify output path: Specify the destination folder for the translated pages.
The site can be translated either by selecting the menu option “File > Translate” or by clicking the Translate button on the toolbar.
The site or the file specified in the “Input Path” is translated into the target language. For this to take place, it is necessary to select a Source-Destination language pair, the path of a folder (which contains the files for a site) or a single file, and the path of a folder to store the translated pages (or file) in.
The translation process first searches the Translation Memory. If you have specified a 100% match in the Configure Translation Memory section, only sentences that exactly match one listed in the Translation memory are automatically replaced. If you have specified a match percentage less than 100%, the content is searched depending on Fuzzy logic & replaced if found in the database.
After Translation Memory is used, the program connects to a translation server using the Internet and the rest of the content is translated using machine translation. The translated pages are stored in the specified output folder.
