Extract Only Audio
This section discusses the way to save only the audio portion of a media file.
Convert to MP3
- After adding files to the list, click the Tools menu and then Settings.
- From the Convert To box, select MP3 (Audio Only).
- Select the Properties tab.
- Set the MP3 Properties.
Convert to WMA
- After adding files to the list, click the Tools menu and then Settings.
- From the Convert To box, select one of the following :
- WMA - For Desktop Viewing.
- WMA - For Windows Media Server (Streaming).
- WMA - For Web Server (Progressive Download).
- WMA - For Portable Devices.
- Select the Properties tab.
- From the Profile box, select an appropriate profile.
- From the list of available Bit Rates, select the ones that you want to include in the conversion.
- Click OK.
Convert to WAV
- After adding files to the list, click the Tools menu and then Settings.
- From the Convert To box, select WAV.
- Select the Properties tab.
- From the Audio Frequency box, select the required frequency.
- Select Audio Bit Size and Audio Type.
- Click OK.
Example
To select a specific song from media file and save only the audio you can take the following steps:
- After adding the file to the list, select the file from which you want to select a particular song.
- On the Tools menu click Split File.
- Drag the selection slider to the start position of the song and click on the Mark In button.
- Drag the selection slider to the stop position of the song and click on the Mark Out button.
- To add this selected range as a new entry in the list, click Add button.
- Click OK.
- Now, point to the Tools menu and click Settings.
- From the Convert To box, select MP3, WAV or any of the WMA formats based on your distribution content.
- To configure the settings for the selected format select the Properties tab.
- Click OK when done.
