My Screen Recorder: Capturing Translucent Windows

Capturing Translucent Windows

Windows which are transparent or semi-transparent are called as Translucent Windows. The most commonly seen translucent window is a Notification, displayed by programs that are in the Windows System Tray. By default, My Screen Recorder does not capture translucent windows.  Items like Notifications and the Windows 2000 Office Assistant may not be critical to the function you are illustrating with your screen recording, and not capturing them avoids distracting your viewers.

To capture translucent windows:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Settings.
  2. Select the Effects tab, if not already selected.
  3. Check the option Capture translucent windows.
  4. Click OK.

Note

If the Capture translucent windows is selected the mouse might blink while recording is in progress. The mouse will not blink in the recorded video.
