My Screen Recorder 3.32

Changing General Settings

Click Tools >> Settings >> General to enable the following features:

Options

To run the application in the background without indicating that the recording is being performed, use Hide application from taskbar but show icon in notification area option.  The application when minimized does not appear in the task bar, but as a system tray icon.  You can access the main functionalities like record, pause, resume, and stop from the system tray itself without having to access the main application user interface.  You can anytime restore the application window just by double clicking the system tray icon.

The video can be played as soon as the recording is completed by selecting the Play Video after the recording is complete option.  You can choose to show a countdown before recording starts, so that you are prepared.

File Save Options

By default, the application asks for a filename after the recording is complete.  When you make multiple screen recordings and want to automate the file naming process, you can choose to assign filename rules.  Create a filename prefix, for example, Video.  You have a choice to append sequential numbers or date and time, by selecting the options, Append sequential numbers to the filename or Append date and time to the filename.

Working Folder

The files created during your screen recording are stored in a temporary folder on the C drive.  In the above figure, the files are stored in C:\Users\Testuser\AppData\Local\Temp.  You can click on Browse to select a different folder to save the temporary files.

Reset Messages

There are various help dialogs that pop-up while using My Screen Recorder.  These dialog pop-ups can be disabled by selecting the Do not show the message again checkbox.  In case, you want to read these messages again, you can click on the Reset Messages button.

Program Appearance

  • The theme is the appearance of the application window.  When you change it, the application window border color is changed.  You can apply different themes using the Color Scheme dropdown list, to make the application look more appealing.  Default color scheme is Blue.

  • The language in which the application interface is displayed can be changed using the Language dropdown.  When the language is changed, the text in the program will be displayed in the selected language including Menus, Dialog boxes, and Window titles.
