My Screen Recorder: Changing General Settings

Changing General Settings

You can change the default settings in My Screen Recorder from the General tab on the Settings dialog by clicking on the Tools menu > Settings to enable the following features:

Options

Hide My Screen Recorder when minimized: By default, My Screen Recorder minimizes to the task bar and the system tray when you start screen recording. You can choose to hide it while a screen recording is going on. When hidden, an icon appears in the system tray and nothing is seen in the task bar.

Play Video after the recording is complete: If you select this option, your video will start immediately after you finish and save your recording.

File Save Options

By default, My Screen Recorder asks you to specify a filename for the screen recording. My Screen Recorder can also automatically generate filenames for the screen recordings.

To enable auto generation of File Names you can choose an option for your file names and type it in the File Name area. You can either select Append sequential numbers to the file name or Overwrite existing file.

Append sequential numbers to the file name: If you choose to Append, each recording will have a new file name with increasing numbers added. For instance, if you enter "MY_RECORDING" as the file name, they would be called MY_RECORDING001, MY_RECORDING002 and so on.

Overwrite existing file: Each time you make a new screen recording; the earlier recording will be deleted and replaced. The new file that replaces the earlier recording will have the same name.

Working Folder

It is the folder that stores temporary files created during your screen recording. By default, the files are stored in a temporary folder on the C drive. In the above figure the files are stored in C:\Users\Testuser\AppData\Local\Temp. You can click on Browse to select a different folder to save the temporary files.

Reset Messages
