My Screen Recorder Pro: Changing Keyboard Shortcuts

Changing Keyboard Shortcuts

The quickest method to start, stop, pause, and resume screen recording is to use keyboard shortcuts. By default, the F8 shortcut key is used to start, pause and resume screen recording. The F9 shortcut key is used to stop recording, while the F10 shortcut key is used to cancel recording.

Shortcuts are also available for the Screen Draw option. The Screen Draw Toggle Key can be used to activate and de-activate the screen draw feature. The Screen Draw Shape Key can be used to start working with a select drawing shape.

To change keyboard shortcuts:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Settings.
  2. Select the Keyboard tab.
  3. Select the shortcut keys, you want to use as the Record/Pause Toggle Key, Stop Recording Key, Cancel Recording Key, Screen Draw Toggle Key.
  4. To select a Screen Draw Shape Keys for a particular shape, select that shape in the drop-down list, then select a shortcut key for that shape.  The Screen Draw Shape Keys are only active when you are already using the Screen Draw feature.
  5. If you want the Ctrl, Alt or Shift key to be pressed along with the selected shortcut key then check the options Ctrl, Alt or Shift respectively.
  6. Click OK.

As an example, if you want to use Ctrl+F12 instead of the F9 shortcut key to stop recording:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Keyboard Options.
  2. Under Stop key, check the Ctrl option. Also select F12 from the box.
  3. Click OK to start using the new shortcut key (Ctrl+F12).
