Security Monitor Pro: Launching a Program

Launching a Program

The Launch Program alert lets you extend Security Monitor Pro to meet a specific requirement.  You can run any program or a script when Security Monitor Pro detects motion or noise, which lets you take any action that you can program the computer to handle.  You can also send parameters to the program that you want to launch.  All devices have their own Alert settings and must be configured separately.

  1. Select a device by clicking on its preview window.  Click the Camera Monitoring Options button for the selected device.
  2. On the Monitoring tab, make sure that When motion or noise is detected option is selected.
  3. Under Select Alerts check the Launch Program option.
  4. Click Configure to open up the settings window.

After this alert is selected and configured, you can start monitoring.  Depending on the configuration, when motion or noise is detected, Security Monitor Pro will launch the program.

Configuring the Alert

In the Specify Program box, enter the entire path and name of the program, script or batch file.  To select the file, click Browse.  To send command line parameters to the program, specify them in the Parameters for the Program box.  In the Start in folder box, specify the name of the folder that you want to set as the program's application folder.  To select a Start in folder, click Browse.
