Security Monitor Pro 4.48

Changing Camera Properties

With the help of Security Monitor Pro, you can view and configure the camera properties.  Camera properties vary depending on the type and manufacturer of the camera.  However, the basic properties are the same for most cameras.  If you feel that your camera settings are not optimized for the environment you are monitoring, you can experiment and see which settings provide the best results.

For example, if you are monitoring a poorly lit area, you can try increasing the brightness.  On the other hand, if you are monitoring a bright area like the inside of your store, then you can try changing the backlight compensation.

To change the properties of a camera, click Camera >> Camera Properties.

IP Camera Properties: For IP cameras, Security Monitor Pro will open camera's property web page in your default web browser, where you can change the settings.  You can simultaneously configure the settings for the rest of the cameras on different web pages.  The instructions on the web page will help you to change the properties such as image quality, image resolution, date and time settings etc.

USB Camera Properties: For USB cameras, Security Monitor Pro will open camera's property page window within the application.  USB camera properties are driver dependent.  You can view and configure properties like brightness, contrast, white balance etc.
