Settings
To change Text Speaker's settings, click Tools >> Settings. The Settings window appears.

General Settings
Run Text Speaker when Windows launches
If this is selected, whenever Windows is started, Text Speaker will automatically be run.
If you select this option, clicking the Close button will not exit Text Speaker. The window will be minimized, and the program will not be listed in the Windows Task Bar, but it will be represented by a Tray icon, and can be restored (or exited) from there. File >> Exit will always exit, rather than minimize to the tray.

Highlight word when reading
When this option is selected, Text Speaker highlights each word as it is spoken aloud. There is no highlighting when text is converted into an audio file.

The word "equal" is now being read.
Text Font and Size
You can change the font that Text Speaker uses in the Text Display area. Simply click the Change button and select a different font. The change will take effect as soon as you click OK. This setting has no effect on fonts used in any other part of the program.
Reset Dialogs
Sometimes in Text Speaker, a message will appear with the option: "Do not show this message again." If you would like to see all these hidden messages again, press the Reset Dialog button.
Use Defaults
If you press the Use Defaults button, all settings on this page will return to the original values they had when the program was installed.
Keyboard Hotkey Settings

For the functions of the hotkeys and reading text aloud from any program, see Speak Selected Text.
For each hotkey, you can select any combination of modifier keys (shift, alt, and ctrl) plus any letter or function key. For instance, to Launch 'Speak it Now' using the settings shown above, you would hold down all three of shift, alt, and ctrl while pressing the "L" key.
Many programs use keyboard shortcuts. If a program running on your system is already using the combination you select, Text Speaker will warn you when you click OK:

Select a different hotkey for that purpose.
If you select None there is no hotkey for that function, and the function is disabled. You can also disable the hotkey by selecting it, then pressing the Disable Hotkey button.
To return to the settings the program had when first installed, click Use Defaults.
