Video Caster: Capturing in WMV Streaming Format

Capturing in WMV Streaming Format

When capturing footage from a Web or DV Camera, you can choose to capture in one of the streaming WMV profiles listed.  The advantage of this feature is that the output file can directly be published to a streaming server or a website and there is no need to convert it to streaming format before publishing.

On the other hand, when capturing from a Digital Video Camera, the capture tool always saves the output file as DV-AVI format, which is a variant of uncompressed AVI format.  The capture tool does not provide the option of capturing footage to WMV format from a Digital Video camera.

To capture in WMV streaming format:

  1. On the Capture menu, click Options.
  2. Click the WMV Properties tab.
  3. From the Profiles dropdown box, select the profile of your choice.  Profile Properties of the profile you have selected will be listed.
  4. Click OK.
