New Version Updates - What's new since the last version
We regularly release new updates to our existing programs. The updates include the most requested feature enhancements for our customers.

In this issue we are highlighting 2 new versions for you to download and try.
    1. Video Caster
A complete video publishing package makes sharing your videos and photos on the Web, easy.
      What's new in version 3.1

  • Auto Slide Show: This unique tool in Video Caster lets you create a slideshow from your photographs instantly. Add all your photo images, select one of the several spectacular visual styles and make a slideshow in WMV or AVI. You can also preview the slideshow immediately without rendering it as a video.
  • File Playback Options: These new options lets you playback media files in sequence. For instance, when listening to a MP3 file, select Next File of Same Type option to play all MP3 files in the current folder in sequence.
  • Enhanced Media File Listing: Video Caster now monitors the selected folder for files added or removed and quickly updates the file listing to reflect the changes. This eliminates the need to rebuild the thumbnails every time there are changes made to the selected folder

    2. WebCam Monitor
Intelligent Motion Detection Software turns your PC and Camera into a Video Security and Surveillance System.
      What's new in version 3.3

  • Windows Media 9: The Video/Audio Recording alert supports Windows Media 9 resulting in very small recording file size. By default, the recording format is WMV.
  • Intuitive Quick Settings: The new design of Quick Settings pane makes it intuitive for you to schedule devices, select the type of monitoring and configuring alert in easy-to-follow steps.
  • Simplified Device Selection: WebCam Monitor displays devices in boxes above the monitor window. This makes it easy to view and change the current devices instantly.
  • Enhanced Log Handling: Logs now save different log events to a tab delimited text file so that you can view them in Notepad or Microsoft® Excel®. WebCam Monitor creates multiple logs when the number of log messages increases.

Q&A: Tips from our Support Forum
    1. WebCam Monitor: Video Properties with Sony DV Camcorders
      Q. I just purchased WebCam Monitor and as a developer, I am very pleased with the interface and overall product. Nice work!

However, I am having difficulty in one area. I am using a Sony DV Camcorder (source) which is driven by:
    Driver File: msdv.sys
    File Version: 5.1.2600.0 (XPClient, etc)

When Monitoring is stopped, I try to open "Tools, Video Properties, etc" and everything is disabled on the form. I want to set the screen size capture to something much lower than full-size. Even with a high compressor, the file sizes are huge.

Please provide a solution to this issue ASAP, I am trying to catch a vandalist without maxing out hard drive space.

      A. The Video Properties dialog box is a part of the DV camera's driver. The dialog box differs in different makes of DV cameras and their drivers. You can try updating the driver by visiting the camera manufacturer's website. Changing the dimension depends entirely on the camera driver's capability.
Another option is to capture to Windows Media Format instead of the default - AVI. This will reduce the capture size considerably.
In one of the future releases of WebCam Monitor will include options to resize video output even when this is not supported by the driver.

Featured Article : Creating Audio Crossfades
Video Edit Magic provides a flexible 9-track timeline – 2 Video tracks, 2 Video Effect tracks, 1 Video Transition track, 2 Audio tracks and 2 Audio Volume track. These tracks represent Video, Video Effect, Video Transition and Audio depending on their types. One Video Effect track is associated with every Video track. Video Effects added to these tracks change the appearance of the Video added to the Video track.
A timeline is a graph that represents time across its length. The timeline represents Videos, Audios, Effects and Transitions (commonly referred to as Sources) as bars in their respective tracks. The length of the bar represents duration. Different sources laid out for different durations on the timeline constitute your final movie.
Video Edit Magic’s Volume Tracks are a very powerful yet simple-to-use method to create Audio effects and transitions. A volume track changes the volume of its corresponding audio track partially or completely. Using the volume tracks in Video Edit Magic, you can increase the volume of an audio track to 400% (200% for Video Edit Magic 2.6 and below) and decrease it to 0% of the original volume.
The volume tracks remain hidden by default. To view the volume tracks, click the small white triangle present besides every volume track. Click this triangle again to hide the volume track.
