Security Monitor Pro: Uploading Video, Audio or Snaps Periodically

Uploading Video, Audio or Snaps Periodically

Many video, audio and image (snap) files are created when alerts like Video/Audio recording and Take Snaps are triggered periodically.  By default, a new file is created every time these alerts run.  You can choose to upload one or more such files to an FTP location for central storage and maintenance at regular intervals.  You can also choose to upload video, audio or snaps on Motion/Noise Detection.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Application Settings.
  2. Select the Remote Monitoring tab.
  3. Under Upload, click Configure.
  4. Configure FTP Server Settings and Upload Behavior.  Check Enable Automatic Upload and select the After every option.

  5. Click OK.

Overwrite the Last Snap

The overwrite option is especially useful when you have a web site that displays an image of a particular location.  By overwriting the same snap file, you can periodically update the picture posted on your website.  When setting up, make sure that the Take Snap alert is selected and is configured to take only one snap.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Application Settings.
  2. Select the Remote Monitoring tab.
  3. Under Upload, click Configure.
  4. Under Upload Behavior, check the Enable Automatic Upload option.
  5. Select any automatic upload option depending on your requirement.
  6. Specify where (server and folder) you want to upload the last snap.
  7. Under Upload What, select the Snaps option.
  8. Select Overwrite Snap Files with the name.
  9. If required, change the name of the file.
  10. Click OK.
