Capturing in WMV Format

While capturing footage from a Web Camera, you can choose to capture uncompressed AVI, compressed AVI or WMV format.  On the other hand, while capturing from a Digital Video Camera, the capture tool always saves the output file as DV-AVI format, which is a variant of uncompressed AVI format.  The capture tool does not provide the option of capturing footage to WMV format from a Digital Video camera.

To capture in WMV format:

  1. On the Capture menu, click Options.
  2. Make sure that the WMV option is selected from Video Capture Format under General tab.
  3. Select the WMV Settings tab.
  4. From the Video Profiles and Audio Profiles box, select the profiles of your choice.  Available Streams for the selected profile will be displayed.  You can select the one you want.
  5. Click OK.
