Preparing for Capture

Ensure that your external device is correctly configured, connected to the PC and no other applications are using the same device.  The capture utility will detect your default external device and will automatically try to use it.

After the capture utility is invoked,

  • Select Capture > Video and/or Capture > Audio.
  • Choose File > Save Capture File As and specify the capture file by browsing for it.  You will also be asked for the capture file when you start capturing.  To avoid this check the option "Do not show this box when I start capturing".  After the capture starts, you will have to manually stop the capture.  You may also configure the capture to stop automatically after certain time by selecting Stop capture after... and by specifying the time in seconds.
  • You may also configure video properties, audio properties and camera properties by selecting Tools > Video Settings, Tools > Camera Settings and/or Tools > Audio Settings.

Now that you have prepared the capture utility for capture, you are ready to start capturing.
