To start with e-mail verification, you must be sure of your Internet connection settings. If your machine uses a Proxy Server, you must first configure the Proxy in Smart Email Verifier. If you are not aware of your internet connection settings or Proxy settings then you should ask your system administrator.

Verifying e-mail addresses is simple. Select the kind of e-mail address to verify and start verification.
Before starting with e-mail verification, the kind of addresses that you wish to verify must be selected. Select Verify from the Session menu. The options available are:
This is the default selection. All e-mail addresses present in the E-mail List are verified irrespective of their status (Valid, Invalid or Unchecked).
Retry Unable to Verify E-mails
If this option is selected then e-mails that were not verified previously or command blocked e-mails are verified. It is recommended that after the first verification of any list, you must select this option and start verification again to get more accurate results.
All New E-mails
If this option is selected then only newly added e-mails are verified.
Smart Email verifier is capable of checking e-mails for their Syntax, DNS and SMTP, in that order. By default, Smart Email Verifier checks an e-mail for Syntax and correct Domain. To change the verification level:
E-mails are automatically checked for correct Syntax when they are added or imported.
Verification Results are categorized in different columns.
Note: For SMTP verification, you must select the Verification Level as Syntax + Domain + SMTP.
Smart Email Verifier provides default Verification Rules that automatically validates e-mail without sending an e-mail to the user. If an e-mail is verified because of a rule then these verification results are displayed in appropriate columns.
After an e-mail address is verified the Result column of the E-mail List displays the verification result. The possible results are:
Marked As Valid: By Rule
This text indicates that the e-mail address was not verified. It was marked as valid by a verification rule.
Marked As Invalid: By Rule
This text indicates that the e-mail address was not verified. It was marked invalid by a verification rule.
Not Verified: By Rule
This text indicates that the e-mail address was not verified and was marked so by a verification rule.
