When I convert from avi the new file has no picture, only sound. I have tried converting avi files to a number of different formats (avi, mpg, wmv) and all have the same result. Is there something I can do to correct this?

It sounds as if you do not have the video codec for the AVI files you are converting. When you play the files in the Windows Media Player, does the picture display normally? If you don't see the picture, you need to locate and download the correct codec. Media Player should automatically locate the codec and prompt you to download it.

Another option is to download Digital Media Converter Pro. It should convert the AVI file without requiring you to install the video codec.
