I get a picture with jagged edges while editing or viewing video clips in the preview. This happens in other editing programs as well.
Can you please help?

Jagged edges may only appear in the Preview mode for fast moving graphic videos. It is NOT reflected in the final output file when you make movie.
Does this happen only for DV AVI files or any other file types?

DV AVI files require high throughput that makes it appear jagged while being previewed. This will not happen when editing other types of files like AVI, MPEG etc.
You should not see the jagged output when creating a final output.
