Recording from a DVD playback

trying to record WinDVD playing DVD. Turned off hardware acceleration, started recording then pause. DVD won't play and get message "Create overlay failed. Please lower your screen resolution or color depth and try again".

Your product works fine for general desktop recording but records blank screen for playing DVD with HW acceleration turned on.

You need to turn off hardware acceleration to perform a screen-recording of a DVD playback. Apparently, WinDVD does not work when hardware acceleration is switched off.

We have seen that Cyberlink's PowerDVD works even when hardware acceleration is turned off. Also, My Screen Recorder is able to record DVD played back by PowerDVD.
