I'm trying to edit videos I've made using a DVD recorder.

The movie files on the disks are called VTS_01_1.VOB and stuff like that. When I try to load them into Video Edit Magic, there's a ding like as if there's an error, then nothing. The program has basically crashed, but it doesn't say so or do anything till you close the program via task manager. Are these type of files actually usable?

Do not try to edit files on a DVD directly. Before editing VOB files from a DVD, you should copy them to your hard drive. This will prevent the crash from occurring.
