How can I make a man appear like a ghost (i.e. semi transparent) in the video ?

To make a man appear ghostly, you could film the man against a black background, so that only the man is lit and easily visible. Then you would combine this "isolated man" video with video of the rest of the scene using the Luminance transition. The use of the Luminance transition to make an object appear transparent is explained in our article Watermark Your Videos and Images.
