Configuring the Proxy Server

Security Monitor Pro requires an Internet connection for Remote Monitoring options like Live Streaming and Upload, and for the E-mail Notification alert.  If you connect to the internet via a proxy server then you must configure it in Security Monitor Pro to stream, upload, or send e-mail.

To configure the proxy server:

1. On the Tools menu, click Application Settings.
2. Select the Remote Monitoring tab.
3. Under Proxy Server, click Configure.
4. Specify the proxy details.  If required, contact your network administrator.
5. Click OK.

If you are using E-mail Notification  and connect to the Internet via a proxy server, use an IP address as the mail server, not a domain name.  Providing a name like "mail.server.com" may not work when using a proxy, because Security Monitor Pro may not be able to convert it into an IP address.

Note

When you connect to the Internet using a proxy server and you receive a "425 Can't open data connection" error during an upload then you must enable Use Passive Mode for FTP connection in Upload Settings.
