What I would like to achieve is this -
I place a camera in a house some distance away and connect it to a wireless router,
how can I get the video from the remote camera to work with your WebCam software?
thanks for your help!

WebCam Monitor can monitor and record your IP camera in a remote location.
Configure your IP camera to use a higher numbered port, such as 4000 and configure port forwarding for your router as explained on this website:
https://www.portforward.com/
Start WebCam Monitor, click 'Add Camera'. Select the brand and model of the camera, and for the IP address, use the public IP address of your remote location and port number 4000. A successful test of the connection should provide a preview of your camera.
