I just tried RIP DVD Plus software. It looks like you can only rip an entire chapter. Is this correct? I am really only trying to get a 30-sec segment out of a chapter and record/convert it to an short AVI file .... specifically my niece making a basket in a basketball game. I really don't need the whole chapter. Am I missing something, or can this be done?

Thanks!

Rip DVD Plus can rip just a small clip from your DVD.

Select the chapter you want to rip, click Tools >> Add Effects and click on the 'Trim Video' tab. You can preview the chapter en the preview window, and enter the exact time you would like to start from and to. Click OK and the Selected Range for the chapter will be updated. When you click Rip you will get just the clip you have selected.
