WebCam Monitor 6.28

Sending SMS Notification

Using the email notification alert, you can receive SMS messages on your mobile phone on Motion/Noise detection.  This can be especially useful when you are on the move.

To configure WebCam Monitor to send SMS notification:

  1. Under Run Alerts on the QuickSettings pane, make sure that When motion or noise is detected option is selected.  Select this option if not already selected.
  2. Under Which Alerts do you want to run?  Check the E-mail Notification option.
  3. Every mobile service provider also has an e-mail domain.  Simply use your mobile number with your service provider's domain to send SMS to mobile phones.  Click the Configure link for the E-mail Notification option and specify the number with domain of the recipient ( number @ domain ) in the To field.  You need to have the facility to get SMS alerts via email.  Contact your telecom service provider for details.  Please make sure that you send the SMS without any attachments such as JPG images.

  4. When sending SMS to mobile phones, make sure that the IncludeJPEGPhotos with email option is not checked.
  5. Click OK.

After this alert is selected and configured, you can start monitoring.  Depending on the configuration, when motion or noise is detected, WebCam Monitor will send an SMS notification.
