User Specified Tags
When you need text between some specific tags to be translated, the “User Specified Tags” option can be used. Consider an xml page that is to be translated:
<xml version=”1.0”> <Employee> <Name>Mark</Name> <Hobby>Reading</Hobby> </Employee>
Here if only the text inside the Hobby tag is to be translated, add the “Hobby” tag to the list and click "Save List". If “Consider User Specified Tags only” tab is selected, the text inside the Hobby tag of the pages selected for translation is translated.
You can configure the "User Specified Tags” using the following options:
- Add Tag
You can add a tag to the existing list of tag entries. After entering the tag and clicking “Add”, it gets appended to the tag list. Do not type the angle brackets "<>" here. Site Translator will add them automatically. You also do not need to type the closing tag. In the example above, you would type "Hobby" (without quotation marks).
- Clear Tag List
The tag list can be cleared of its contents by clicking the “Clear List” option.
- Save Tag
The tag list must be saved by clicking on “Save List”. Unless this is done, updates to the tag list are not saved.
- Remove Tag
Press this button to remove the currently selected tag entry from the Tag List.
- Edit Tag
Highlight a tag in the Tag List, and click Edit Tag to modify the text (for instance, to correct the spelling).
