My Screen Recorder: Changing Keyboard Shortcuts

Changing Keyboard Shortcuts

The quickest method to start, stop, pause, and resume screen recording is to use keyboard shortcuts. By default, the F8 shortcut key is used to start, pause and resume screen recording. The F9 shortcut key is used to stop recording, while the F10 shortcut key is used to cancel recording.

To change keyboard shortcuts:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Settings.
  2. Select the Keyboard tab.
  3. Select the shortcut keys, you want to use as the Record/Pause key, Stop recording key and Cancel recording key.
  4. If you want the Ctrl, Alt or Shift key to be pressed along with the selected shortcut key then check the options CTRL, ALT or SHIFT respectively.
  5. Click OK.

As an example, if you want to use Ctrl+F12 instead of the F9 shortcut key to cancel recording:

  1. On the Tools menu, select Settings.
  2. Select the Keyboard tab.
  3. Under Stop recording key, check the CTRL option. Also select F12 from the box.
  4. Click OK to start using the new shortcut key (Ctrl+F12).
