My Screen Recorder: Recording a Fixed Dimension

Recording a Fixed Dimension

To define the capture region in pixels, you can choose to the Fixed Dimensions option.

  1. On the File menu, point to Region and click Fixed Dimensions.
  2. Specify the dimension of the rectangle to be panned. To specify the dimension:
    • Enter the Width and Height values in pixels. The minimum size that you can specify for the rectangle being panned is 50 X 50.
    • Click Select to choose a location on the desktop.
  3. On the File menu, click Record to start recording. My Screen Recorder minimizes itself before the recording is started. You can also use keyboard shortcut to start recording. By default, this key is F8.
  4. The mouse pointer changes to the rectangle with the specified dimension. Move the mouse and position the rectangle to the section of the desktop that you want to record. Click once to start the recording process. During recording, the My Screen Recorder icon in the Windows Display Area flashes.
  5. Work with your computer while all desktop activities are recorded in the background.
  6. Drag the rectangle from its corners when you want to pan it around the desktop.
  7. There are two ways to pause the recording:
    • Use the keyboard shortcut for pausing recordings. By default, this key is F8.
    • The My Screen Recorder icon is placed in the system tray by default. Right-click the icon and select Pause Recording.

  9. When you have completed your work, you can use these two methods to stop the recording:
    • The keyboard shortcut for stopping recordings. By default, this key is F9.
    • The My Screen Recorder icon is placed in the system tray by default. Right-click it and select Stop Recording.
  10. After the recording is complete (stopped), the video and audio are merged.  You are given the chance to name the recording file. By default, it is saved in the current Folder Shortcut.  You can click the Browse button and save it to any folder.  If you save to a folder that is not a Shortcut, that folder will be added to the Recent Folder Shortcuts list at the left of the window. Use the built-in player to preview the recording.
