Recovering AVI Files

My Screen Recorder Pro records the audio and video as two separate files, and AVI and a WAV file, in the temporary folder, and combines them after you stop the recording.  Sometimes when a problem occurs, the two component pieces are left in the temporary folder and never combined.  My Screen Recorder Pro now has an AVI Recovery Wizard for these situations that can recover files that were not closed down properly, and are present in your temporary folder.

To recover AVI files:

  1. In the Tools menu click on Recover AVI.
  2. Click Next on the AVI Recovery Wizard.
  3. You need to select a previous screen recording with settings and dimensions similar to the one that has recovered under Specify the reference AVI screen recordingBrowse to select the reference file and click Next.
  4. Now Browse for the AVI file and WAVE file (only if you had recorded audio) present in your temporary folder.  Click Next.
  5. Click Finish.
