What can I do to ensure smooth screen recording?

To ensure smooth screen recordings, you can turn off the hardware acceleration.  You can limit the area of recording: the smaller the area recorded, the less the amount of data to process, and the smoother the recording.  If it's not needed you can choose not to record audio.  Both, closing unwanted programs and changing performance settings also helps.  Finally, reducing the screen resolution can also result in smoother recording.

Why cant I play my converted WMV/WMA files?
