Security Monitor Pro: Types Of Alerts

Types of Alerts

Security Monitor Pro can take various actions when motion or noise is detected, or at regular intervals.  These are referred to as "Alerts".

Supported Alerts

1. Video/Audio Recording: This is the most frequently used Alert.  Security Monitor Pro to records video or audio footage from the camera (and optional microphone).  Recordings are saved as Windows Media Formats (WMV or WMA).

   • Recording Video/Audio Periodically (at regular intervals)
2. Take Snaps: This is also a frequently used Alert.  The Take Snap Alert captures still images.  Captured images (photo snaps) are saved as JPEG files.

3. E-mail Notification: This Alert sends an e-mail message, optionally with an attached image.  If you have access to an Internet enabled PC, you can stay informed by periodically checking your e-mail.  You can also configure E-mail Notification Alert to send an SMS message.  E-mail notification lets you stay updated from anywhere.

4. Sound Alarm: Sound Alarm lets you play a sound file when motion and/or noise is detected.  All popular audio file types (WAV, MP3 etc.) are supported.

5. Launch Program: You can use this alert to launch a program or script.  This alert can help you extend Security Monitor Pro for a specific requirement.  If you want Security Monitor Pro to perform operations other than the built-in alerts, you can write a program or script and specify it in this Alert.

A device can be set to trigger multiple alerts for each event.
