My Screen Recorder Pro 5.32

Specifying Maximum File Size

The maximum file size that the AVI file format allows is about 2GB.  My Screen Recorder Pro employs segmentation to work around this limitation.  In segmentation, whenever the recording file size exceeds the value you specify, a new file (segment) is automatically created.  The maximum size of this new file will again be the value you had specified, and if the recording again extends beyond this size, further segmentation is carried out.

To specify the maximum file size:

  1. On the Tools menu, click on Settings.
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. Under File Segments click Configure.
  4. Type the size in the 'Create segments after file size reaches to' box.
  5. Click on OK.

NOTE: You can specify the size in terms of MB or GB.  The maximum file size cannot exceed a value of 1.9 GB.
